DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A ten thousand dollar check will be presented in support of the Never Surrender Black Woods Blizzard Tour on Monday.
Duluth Lawn and Sport pledged ten dollars in the fight against ALS for every strike out recorded by a Minnesota Twins pitcher this season up to ten thousand dollars. The pledge was fully met as the Twins racked up 1,297 strike outs in 2026.
As part of the check presentation celebration, Duluth Lawn and Sport will also give away a John Deere Lawn Tractor to a finalist who qualified on KQDS and KDAL radio during the season.
Lisa Erikson, Executive Director of Never Surrender Inc., says the ten thousand dollar gift will go directly toward people living with ALS and their families and to research that will one day put an end to the disease.
The nonprofit Never Surrender Inc. hosts the Blackwoods Blizzard Tour, the Kolar Toyota ALS Fishing Tournament and the Tomassoni Tour-Cycle for ALS.
Those fundraising events have raised more than 27 million dollars for ALS since 1999.
