DULUTH, MN & SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Police in Duluth responded to reports of a stabbing in the 2900 block of Exeter Street around 7:50 p-m on Wednesday.
An initial investigation shows that two people were arguing with an individual when one of the suspects stabbed the victim in the hand. The two suspects then fled the scene.
Superior Police located and stopped the suspects’ vehicle near East 4th Street and 22nd Avenue East about 9:30.
The driver initially complied with officers but then ran back to his vehicle and fled with the other suspect still inside the vehicle.
Following a short pursuit the vehicle was stopped again in the 1700 block of East 5th Street. During that stop, a single shot was fired from inside the vehicle although nobody was injured by the gunshot.
Both of the occupants from Lake Nebagamon were then arrested without further incident.
The 34 year old driver and 36 year old passenger are facing a variety of charges in Douglas County including resisting an officer, felony fleeing, operating while intoxicated, felony bail jumping and a felon in possession of a firearm.
Additional charges are likely related to the stabbing in Duluth.
