SUPERIOR, WI (Northern News Now) – One person is dead after a crash involving a semi and an SUV shut down an intersection in Douglas County for nearly six hours Tuesday.
The crash happened near the intersection of County Road A and Larson Road, south of Superior near Pattison State Park and Four Corners Elementary School.
Authorities confirmed at least one person died and said the victim was likely deceased when law enforcement arrived on the scene.
The intersection closed at approximately 8:30 a.m. and remained blocked until around 2 p.m.
Video from the scene showed tow trucks removing a semi that was carrying small buildings or sheds, with damage visible to the rear of the vehicle. A white SUV at the scene sustained considerable damage to its front end.
It is not yet known whether anyone else was injured or what led to the crash. Authorities have not released additional details.
