DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Starting Tuesday, Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center will be issuing badges for those visiting the hospital.
Those entering the facility’s main entrance on East 2nd Street need to show a photo I-D for a visitor badge that will be good for one day and returned when leaving the building.
Patients will be allowed to vouch for visitors who do not have an I-D and visitors to the emergency department will be issued badges as well.
Essentia Health says the new process will enhance the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
The badges will also help keep track of the number of visitors at St. Mary’s and ensure that visitors are in areas they are allowed to access.
