DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department is reminding residents to make sure gas meters, furnace, boiler and dryer vents are kept clear of snow and ice.
With all the snow the area has seen this winter and more on the way, it’s important to remove snow from vents and meters.
That will keep appliances functioning properly, avoid unscheduled gas outages and prevent other issues.
When clearing snow and ice, use only hand tools and never use open flames or other ignition sources.
It is strongly recommended that all buildings have a working carbon monoxide detector.
If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide on your property call the Duluth Comfort Systems or 9-1-1.
