DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Smoke from wildfires in Canada is drifting into northern Minnesota Tuesday morning and is expected to be pushed by northerly winds as far south as Hinckley and Alexandria by afternoon.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an Air Quality Alert until 4 p-m Tuesday for most of northern Minnesota.
The smoke and air quality in northeast Minnesota should improve later in the day when winds become more easterly.
During the alert, sensitive groups such as people with asthma, lung or heart disease and children and older adults should limit prolonged or heavy exertion and their time outdoors.
