COHASSET, MN (KDAL) – The spring snowstorm that is dumping heavy, wet snow across the region, has left over 1600 customers of Lake Country Power without electricity.
Line crews are working to restore power around Grand Rapids, Cromwell, Walker, Cohasset and areas to the north.
Additional snow of six inches or more is expected in those areas and could lead to more outages as power lines and tree branches are covered by the wet snow.
If you encounter a downed power line, keep away from it and call Lake Country Power at 1-800-421-9959 or go to the outage center online at lakecountrypower.coop.
As of midday Wednesday, only minor outages have been reported to Minnesota Power and East Central Energy.
UPDATE: Lake Country Power crews had restored nearly all the outages by Wednesday night.
