UNDATED (KDAL) – According to figures from the International Lake Superior Board of Control, the big lake declined 4.7 inches in January compared to a usual drop of 2.8 inches.
At the beginning of February, Lake Superior is 4.7 inches below the long term average and 11.8 inches less than the level recorded last year at this time.
The lake typically continues a decline in February and depending on the weather and water supply conditions could go down another 3.9 inches during the month.
