DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Fire Department was called after passerby noticed smoke coming from the roof of a home in the 2200 block of West 6th Street on Wednesday.
Responding crews found charred wood, dripping tar and smoke in the attic of the home and found that a solar panel on the roof was the source of the fire.
Damage was estimated to be 40 thousand dollars to the structure and contents.
Crews from Headquarters, Lincoln Park and Spirit Valley responded to the fire.
Traffic on a portion of 6th Street was detoured for several hours starting around 2:10 p-m.
