DULUTH, MN (KDAL) -A group of student advocates and teens with autism from Denfeld High School met on Monday with Duluth Mayor Don Ness in his office to advocate for people with autism.  On Wednesday, February 8 at 2:00 pm, student advocates and teens with autism from East High School will also meet with Mayor Ness for the same reasons.  Both groups are participating in Arc Northland’s Civic Engagement and Leadership Development program for teens with autism and other disabilities. The program is being funded by the Northland Foundation. Arc Northland is launching this new program in partnership with the Duluth Public Schools. The program provides opportunities for students with autism and other disabilities to learn about and engage further with a variety of local leaders and organizations in the Duluth area.
