Madison, Wis. (WHBL) - Soon after being sworn in, Governor Scott Walker has authorized Attorney General JB Van Hollen to challenge the federal health care reform law.  This authorization comes just hours after Walker was sworn in as the state’s 45th governor.  Van Hollen says that the US Constitution does not authorize the federal government to require someone to buy government approved insurance or pay a penalty.  Wisconsin joins twenty other states in the federal lawsuit in Florida.  Van Hollen had initially saught approval to sue from Governor Jim Doyle but was denied.  Van Hollen’s office is expected to take action promptly.
