(Undated) -- The U.S. Census Bureau is in the process of hiring thousands of temporary workers in Minnesota. Regional spokesman Rich Gerdes says they're close to their recruiting goals in most of the state except northwestern Minnesota. He says the Bemidji area has been tough and they're striving to find tribal residents to work on the tribal lands. Gerdes says they're also looking for workers who can speak foreign languages in the state's urban areas. Most of the temporary workers will go door-to-door asking people to fill out census forms. Those positions in Minnesota pay between 12 and 17 dollars an hour.
