An Army National Guard unit based in Duluth is receiving national honors for its recent deployment to Afghanistan. Guard spokesperson Captain Randy Belden says the 114th Transportation Company is being given the National Defense Transportation Association "Unit of the Year" award. Captain Belden says the 114th spent nine months hauling critical supplies in the difficult terrain of south central Afghanistan. The unit will be recognized during a presentation ceremony in Washington D-C this September.
