(St. Paul, MN) -- Democratic leaders say the Minnesota Senate will override Governor Pawlenty's veto of a bill extending General Assistance Medical Care beyond April 1st for very-low-income Minnesotans. Governor Pawlenty says the move is expected in the Senate and won't hurt discussions that continue with Democrats. The governor says the House is where the line of defense is drawn and both sides are trying to find some common ground. To override Pawlenty's veto, Democrats need help from three Republicans in the House. GOP leaders say they'll stand firm with the governor.
